Training and Experience
Adam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and received his degree from the Part-Time Masters of Social Work program at UW-Madison. Adam also received his Substance Use Disorder specialty in 2018, and gained experience in treating concerns related to mental health and substance use through practice in community mental health. Prior to that, he helped support families and their loved ones in their homes through Hospice as they transitioned towards end-of-life.
Adam uses a Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused approach to treatment that helps clients feel empowered, safe, and supported as they work towards becoming their best selves. To do this, he crafts a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship focused on the inherent strengths and knowledge of those that he works with. He also uses a collaborative approach, working together to build awareness and insight, to set goals, and to define steps towards those goals. Adam uses a thoughtfully selected group of evidenced-based therapy techniques that include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
