Joe is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has over two years of experience providing therapy in outpatient settings. Before coming to Mental Health Solutions, Joe was employed at Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin in Appleton, WI and worked with clients of all ages. Joe strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. Joe wants to help guide clients to their goals and provide them with the tools necessary to do so. Joe has experience in individual, group, family, and couples counseling.
Joe received his B.S. in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 2019. Joe then interned at the University of Wisconsin - Stout Counseling Clinic for a year while in school to get his M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UW - Stout which he received in 2022.
Joe works with clients ages 6 and up on a wide variety of mental health concerns. This includes depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, anger, stress, and emotional regulation. Joe draws from several therapeutic approaches depending on what best serves the client’s needs. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Joe utilizes evidence-based practices to prioritize optimal outcomes for client care. Joe is also trained in Trauma-Informed Care and is committed to supporting each client with compassion, understanding, and respect.
