Due to her fellowship training, Dr. German has a breadth of experience working with teens and young adults.
Training
Dr. German attended undergraduate college at St. Olaf College in Minnesota and later returned home for medical school at University of Wisconsin. She completed her Adult Psychiatry training at the University of Vermont and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship back at the University of Wisconsin. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and board eligible for the Child and Adolescent specialty certification. Dr. German is a Madison native and excited to be in her home community raising her two young children and working with patients.
Experience
Dr. German has previously provided psychiatric care in a variety of settings through her residency training. These include the inpatient setting, emergency room, outpatient, residential, and intensive outpatient.
Treatment Specialties
Dr. German has a particular interest in working with patients with a history of symptoms indicative of neurodevelopmental disorders, depression, anxiety, or trauma-based disorders.
Techniques
Her practice often incorporates psychotherapy, mindfulness, explores relationships, in addition to medication management. She hopes to help each patient understand themselves and their life story through an empowered lens.
